Lucknow: With the alarming rise in diabetes and heart disease cases across the country, the Helping Hearts Foundation organized a vital one-day workshop titled “Diabetes and Heart Disease — Double Danger, Common Solution” to raise awareness and explore integrated solutions to these interconnected health threats.
Held under the guidance of renowned cardiologist Dr. Nakul Sinha, the workshop saw participation from top medical experts and senior cardiologists from across Uttar Pradesh and other states. The event formed part of the Cardio-Diabetic Conclave, where real-life clinical cases were presented to highlight the overlapping risks and the need for coordinated treatment approaches.
Prominent speakers included Dr. Tini Nair (Trivandrum), Dr. Srinivas (Hyderabad), Dr. Rajiv Agarwal (Meerut), Dr. Sushil Gupta (Max Hospital, Lucknow), Dr. Aditya Kapoor (SGPGI, Lucknow), and Dr. Rishi Shukla (Kanpur), each of whom showcased special case studies that underscored the complex relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular health.

In the first segment of the conclave, Jyoti Sinha, Secretary of Helping Hearts Foundation, led a community awareness session focusing on practical lifestyle modifications to combat both conditions. Citizens from all walks of life attended this interactive program, engaging in discussions about preventive healthcare, healthy dietary habits, stress management, and routine screenings.

“This double danger can be tackled not just with medication, but by fostering discipline in lifestyle, awareness, and timely intervention,” said Dr. Sinha.

Dr. Bhupendra Tripathi, Deputy Director of the Gates Foundation, graced the event as the chief guest, emphasizing the need for collective societal action in tackling lifestyle diseases. He was joined by senior experts Dr. Sushil Gupta, Dr. Neeraj Bhasin, and Dr. Nakul Sinha, who offered insights into maintaining holistic well-being—physical, mental, and emotional.
The event also acknowledged the valuable contribution of Dr. Anuja Bhargav, Shantanu Sinha, and Speaking Pictures in the smooth execution of the program.
